Balloon Fun & A Platypus

We went to an Oktoberfest event at Capital Ale House and they had a balloon lady. We thought it would be fun to ask her to make a greyhound and a white rabbit. She obliged and said it was her first ever greyhound request. Here is her website: Balloon Entertainment
I just noticed little Opal's glowing eyes in the bottom of the picture, ha-ha.

Baron says, "hmmmm this looks familiar." No balloons were choked on or consumed during the taking of this picture.

Our handsome boy.

Our platypus impersonator. Maggie was caught eating grass and leaves. She is looking very guilty.... she is always guilty.

Summer Days

Our pups love the summer time. Sometimes I wonder if Baron and Kix wish they were back in the Florida heat; sometimes I have to coax them in the house. Today was about 92 or so at our house and they wanted to be outside on the deck. Humidity wasn't too bad so that made it more bareable.

Baron has the sweetest eyes.

Maggie has to be front and center.

Kix says "Air conditioning is for wimps."

These two pics, below, were taken by Aunt Alice at the family reunion. Everyone loved our pups.

I just saw on the Virginia Greyhound Adoption (VAGA) blog that Kix decided to be in someone else's adoption picture. Who is the attention hog now?

Adoption Day

Chris and I hosted adoption day at our house for the first time. It was a lot of fun. We picked up four greys who will have a new happy home. One other went up to Fredericksburg.

Michelle goes over the adoption handbook.
Everyone awaits their greys.
KB Shine On "Wilson" is hanging out with us until Monday night.
WSR Puddin Pop gets a new Martingale.
Puddin Pop strikes a pose with her new Mom.
Other pups in this haul were Bolo Macho, Philemon, and Condo Kid.

Family Reunion July 2009

Enjoy these family reunion pics. If you have more to add please send them via internet link if possible, otherwise email them a few at a time. Chris and I were so glad to see you all last weekend. We hope you will visit Virginia again soon.

Kix Turns 5!

Kix turns 5 years old today! She is a happy girl to be all healed up. She actually got to go to her first Meet & Greet since January this past weekend.

As usual Maggie is not too far away from the eating action.

A Decade of Us

We celebrated 10 years together this weekend. Time has flown by! So many things have changed since we met at Legends, a college bar, in Greenwood, S.C. but one thing has stayed the same - our commitment to each other.

It is about d@mn time!

Sorry we have been MIA for so long. Lots to catch up on.

Maggie Belle scoping out the bugs.

Kix in her favorite sunny spot on the deck.

Big Mags.
Best buddies Kix & Maggie share a bed.

Baron hold his bone.

Kix always finds the sunny spots!

Kix's leg has finally been downgraded to a bandage and occasionally if muddy a sock to keep it clean. Her ordeal with the cast and skin burns was a real stressor. She has finally started putting her full weight back on the leg after being three legged for 4 months.
Baron turned 6 on May 25. He was not thrilled about this hat in particular, strange, he is usually a very good sport.
He did like his cake though. You can see his tongue getting a little taste. Maggie was also trying to get in on the action.

CAKE!
